Washington, DC, November 15, 2023 – Today, the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) is pleased to announce that George Casey and Molly Montgomery have joined the organization as members of its Board of Directors.
George Casey and Molly Montgomery join CEPA’s Board of Directors at a period of critical importance for CEPA’s mission to ensure a secure, democratic, and prosperous transatlantic community. Together, Casey and Montgomery bring decades of private and public sector experience, as well as deep expertise on the most urgent issues facing the transatlantic alliance.
George Casey is Global Managing Partner at Shearman and Sterling LLP. Casey’s extensive career and legal practice has focused on US and international Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), representing boards of directors and management of major multinational companies with respect to strategic transactions, investments, joint ventures, corporate governance, and shareholders relations, among other things. George is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a regular lecturer at l’École de Droit de la Sorbonne – Université Paris I, and is a thought leader on corporate, M&A, governance, and geopolitical issues. He is often invited to speak at major conferences and write commentary on emerging legal, governance and international policy issues. George also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Audit Committee of the American College of Greece.
Molly Montgomery is a Director of Public Policy at Meta, where she focuses on issues related to geopolitics and US foreign and national security policy. She is also an adjunct professor at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, where she teaches transatlantic relations. Molly spent more than 15 years in government, serving most recently as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State responsible for relations with Western Europe, the European Union, and European regional economic affairs. As a career Foreign Service Officer, she completed overseas tours in Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Latvia, and the United Arab Emirates and domestic assignments, including serving in the Office of the Secretary of State and as Special Advisor to the Vice President for Europe and Eurasia.
