Understanding Ukraine: Parliament Under Fire

May 16, 2023 at 10:00 am to 10:30 am

Event Overview

A Fireside Chat with Ukrainian Member of Parliament H.E. Galyna Mykhailiuk.

Throughout Russia’s war in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament’s mission has been twofold: to defend Ukraine and to protect Ukrainians. Over the last several months, the Verkhovna Rada has focused on myriad issues, ranging from bolstering Ukraine’s military capabilities and advancing toward Euro-Atlantic integration, to tracking down deported children. What are the Verkhovna Rada’s top priorities for the next year? Galyna Mykhailiuk, Verkhovna Rada Deputy and Deputy Head of the Committee on Law Enforcement, sits down with CEPA Democracy Fellow Elena Davlikanova to discuss key legislative initiatives in Ukraine and her personal experience as a Member of Parliament.

Speaker:

H.E. Galyna Mykhailiuk, Member, Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine (Servant of the People)

Moderated by

Elena Davlikanova, Democracy Fellow, Center for European Policy Analysis
