CEPA Future Russia Fellowship

The Center for European Policy Analysis is accepting applications for its new Future Russia Fellowship, a two-year in-residence program for highly qualified independent Russian academics and policy analysts who are unable to continue engaging in their work in Russia due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

About the Fellowship

The successful candidate will be a mid-career academic or academically trained policy analyst, with proven experience designing and implementing interdisciplinary research projects and managing diverse teams of colleagues. The fellow should also have a track-record of producing high-quality research in Russian and English, and a strong reputation in the field.

Resident at CEPA’s headquarters in Washington, DC, for an initial one-year period, extendable to two years, the Fellow will be embedded in CEPA’s initiatives to provide analysis and strategic foresight on Russia’s future to decision-makers and the interested public. Reporting to the Director of CEPA’s Democratic Resilience Program, the Fellow will also help to coordinate the Program’s Russia-focused work and mentor other Russia-focused fellows.

The Fellowship will cover a stipend, relevant logistical support for relocation, workspace, technical and administrative assistance, and an activity budget.

The Fellow will be selected through an open, competitive process, focusing on applicants’ proven track record, reputation in the field, and ability to contribute to public discourse and education. The deadline for the submission of applications will be August 1, 2023. It is anticipated that the Fellow will take up the position in the autumn of 2023.
