EU and US leaders chart a path for a democratic competitive edge on Artificial Intelligence, analyzing the impact of the EU AI Act on data flows and security.
Event Overview
The EU and US have, so far, adopted different approaches to AI regulation. The EU AI Act has been passed into law creating centralized regulation, prioritizing data privacy, and providing guidelines for AI development. The US has yet to legislate, allowing an industry-led approach for now. Regulatory divergence could impact data flows and create barriers to the development of the best AI tools. Can the US and EU find a way to ensure democratic leadership in the AI era?
