As the pandemic strains national institutions and international ties, Estonia has stood out as a leading example of resilience and cohesion. The 1.3 million people of the northernmost Baltic state are gradually returning to normal life, following successful public health measures to reduce the infection rate. Estonia’s capabilities in combating disinformation, e-governance, and protecting critical infrastructure and public services have played important roles in the country’s response to the coronavirus outbreak. On the world stage, the upcoming Three Seas summit in the fall and its incoming presidency in the UN Security Council highlights Estonia's commitment to development and problem-solving in transparent, multilateral frameworks.

CEPA hosted a fireside chat with President Kersti Kaljulaid to discuss Estonia’s approach to pressing problems ranging from the pandemic to geopolitics.
