Uliana Movchan is an Ax:son Johnson Fellow with the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).
Uliana Movchan’s research focuses on local and sub-national regime dynamics, political institutions, and democratization, particularly in the context of decentralization and wartime governance in Ukraine. She has conducted research at leading institutions, including the Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (George Washington University), Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (University of Toronto), Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, and the University of California, San Diego.
Movchan has presented her findings at major international conferences and published in academic journals, edited volumes, and policy papers. In addition to her academic roles, Uliana Movchan has served as a project manager and expert on initiatives funded by international foundations such as the US Embassy in Ukraine and the International Visegrad Fund.
Uliana Movchan holds a PhD in Political Science from V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
