Robert Mandell is a retired US Ambassador to Luxembourg, having served under President Barack Obama. He is currently a partner at Velocitas Venture, a medical device company, and Wendover Housing Partners, a firm focused on affordable and workforce housing. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of The Greater Construction Corp.
In 2010, Amb. Mandell was appointed to President Obama’s Export Council before being named US Ambassador to Luxembourg, a position he held until 2015. Upon retiring, he was inducted into the Order of the Oak Crown by Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg for his service to the country.
Amb. Mandell currently serves on the board of Human Rights First in New York City. Over the past decade, he has also been a board member of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Center for New American Studies, and the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts.
He holds a BS and JD from the University of Florida and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s OPM29 program.
