Matthew Eitel is Chief of Staff at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).

His work is focused on the nexus of EU-US tech, trade, and national security, particularly export controls and transatlantic policy vis-à-vis China. Matthew’s research and commentary have been featured in POLITICO, Euractiv, and Congressional staff reports from the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission and the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Previously, Matthew was Special Assistant to CEPA’s President & CEO and a Program Officer for CEPA’s Tech Policy Program. Prior to joining CEPA, he researched economic sanctions under Ambassador Norman Eisen (ret.) at The Brookings Institution.

Matthew graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University's O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a BSPA in Policy Analysis.
