Laura Galante is a Senior Fellow with the Tech Policy Program at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).

From the boardroom to the Situation Room, Galante is a recognized leader in intelligence, cyber and national security affecting digital and critical infrastructure. She has built organizations, business lines and capabilities that integrate advanced intelligence practices into real-world operations and decision making.

From 2022 to 2025, Galante served as the US Intelligence Community’s Cyber Executive reporting to the Director of National Intelligence. In this role she led the federal cyber center responsible for coordinating the 18 intelligence agencies’ response to major cyber incidents. She also led strategic acquisitions of commercial intelligence, represented her agency in meetings of the National Security Council and before Senate and House committees, and chaired the Cyber Strategy Board.

Before her government service, Galante held senior executive roles in the cybersecurity industry. She led cybersecurity company Mandiant’s Global Intelligence business. She later directed an international task force on hybrid threats, served as an expert witness in cyber warfare and espionage litigation, and
worked closely with European governments to strengthen incident response capabilities.

Today, Galante advises technology, AI, and threat intelligence companies, as well as infrastructure investors. As a Principal at the strategic advisory firm WestExec, she guides defense and security technology companies on market expansion and works with boards on enterprise resilience and risk governance.

A former TED speaker, Galante frequently keynotes international forums, contributes to public policy debates, testifies before Congress, and appears in major media outlets to discuss digital risk and opportunity. She serves on multiple corporate and national security boards.

Galante holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from The Catholic University of America. She lives on a farm in rural Virginia with her family.
