Isabella Nieminen is a Program Assistant with the Democratic Resilience program at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).
As a recipient of the Fulbright Award, Isabella most recently taught English and conflict resolution for a year in Zugdidi, Georgia. Previously, she studied Russian in Kyrgyzstan through the US State Department’s Critical Language Scholarship. Isabella has interned at The Center for European Policy Analysis and The German Marshall Fund’s Alliance for Securing Democracy. She worked with Project Common Bond, a summer program for youth affected by global conflict, and participated in the US Institute of Peace’s US-Vietnam Youth Leadership Cohort. Her research interests include transitional justice, localized peace processes, and the humanitarian-development-peace nexus.
Isabella holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University; for her thesis, she examined the resilience of civil society in response to the Foreign Agents Law in Georgia.
