Kari Odermann is a Fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).
Dr. Odermann is a political analyst and communication specialist with over 20 years of experience in security, development, and technical assistance across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. She advises on and creates strategies for government programs and projects worldwide, including work with the German Parliament, the German Council on Foreign Relations, UNDP, the German Aid Agency, and as a consultant to public, private, and nonprofit organizations. As a content creator, Dr. Odermann collaborates on initiatives focused on democratic resilience, countering disinformation, and political education.
Her work reaches an annual audience of 5 million, effectively bridging the gap by delivering political insights to social media audiences who might not typically engage with such topics. Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Dr. Odermann worked as a journalist in Kyiv, where she hosted a political program and co-produced an explainer series on Ukraine. Dr. Odermann is the founder of KII Communication.
Her expertise in global affairs, political communication, and the Russian-Ukrainian information space has made her a frequent speaker and moderator at high-profile public events. Dr. Odermann holds a Dr. rer. Phil from the Free University of Berlin. She has been awarded both a Fulbright Scholarship and a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship, and she has held political mandates in the US and Germany.
