Arnis Cimermanis is a Non-Resident Fellow with the Transatlantic Defense and Security program at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).

Arnis is the head of the International Involvement Planning Section at the Latvian Ministry of Defense. His work primarily focuses on operational planning, International military operations, out-of-area engagements, as well as wider security cooperation in the Northern European area.  

He is the recipient of the Baltic American Freedom Foundation scholarship, which led him to his previous work at CEPA, where he focused on Northern European security issues. Additionally, he has work experience in NATO Joint Force Command Brunssum, placing his area of focus on NATO’s eastern flank as well as Ukraine's security issues. His expertise focuses on Northern European and Baltic Sea security, the UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), NATO, as well as wider European security.
