Aija Ģelze is Third Secretary in the Euro-Atlantic Security Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. She is currently working on coordinating Latvia’s interests in NATO policies, including deterrence and defense posture. Previously, Aija’s work with the Ministry focused on EU coordination, namely Brexit, rule of law mechanisms, European Council meetings, and EU Common Security and Defense Policy. She holds a master’s degree in Human Rights Law from the University of Edinburgh and a bachelor’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences focused on Anthropology from Lumière University Lyon 2.
