Photo: KEMEROVO, RUSSIA – NOVEMBER 27, 2021: Sergei Gerasimenok (R), head of Section 4 at Listvyazhnaya coal mine, accused of violating industrial safety rules at hazardous production facilities which led to the death of two or more people by negligence, appears at a hearing into the Listvyazhnaya coal mine accident case at the Central District Court. In the morning of November 25, coal dust caught fire in a ventilation shaft some 250 meters underground, filling the mine with smoke. At the time of the accident 285 miners were in the mine; 239 people were evacuated, 63 got injured, 51 died, including 5 mine-rescuers.
