Event Overview

It is critical that the alliance secures LGBT+ rights across Europe.

LGBT+ rights are an integral part of democracies. However, authoritarian regimes continue to chip away at these rights and restrict civil liberties. What challenges are the LGBT+ community currently facing across Europe? How has Russia’s war in Ukraine exacerbated these threats and increased the need for the protection of marginalized groups? In which ways can the transatlantic alliance work together to bolster democratic values and protect LGBT+ rights?
