Information Bedlam: Chinese Information Operations During COVID-19

Event Overview
In 2020, Chinese disinformation spread globally for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic. From malign influence operations to vaccine diplomacy and Chinese-state media's growing global presence, Chinese information operations are having an increasingly large impact on the global information ecosystem. The transatlantic alliance, media, and civil society must work together to blunt Chinese Communist Party propaganda. Questions abound. How does disinformation fit into the wider arsenal of Chinese influence operations? How are these tactics evolving? What is the overlap with other adversaries’ efforts? And how should policymakers respond?
