In a potential crisis in Europe, reinforcement relies on military mobility to move equipment and personnel across rivers, bridges, and mountains — all while protecting critical infrastructure from cyber vulnerabilities. However, this movement is likely to occur across vast distances, multiple border crossings, and the infrastructure of several host nations. Moreover, political and military leaders could face the decision to mobilize under peacetime conditions, which would present significant restrictions on where, when, and how forces could move. How prepared are the United States and its European allies and partners for a crisis scenario which requires fast reinforcement?

Join CEPA for a virtual discussion that will explore current military mobility capabilities in five scenarios: 1) Norway to Estonia; 2) Western Europe through the Suwałki Corridor; 3) Western Europe through the Focșani Gate; 4) Western Europe to the Western Balkans; and 5) Western Europe to Libya via the Mediterranean. This discussion is part of CEPA’s ongoing work on military mobility, which aims to offer concrete and practical recommendations for improving these capacities across Europe.
